Jake Code
Hockey
Jake Code will be running the Hockey Skills session every week. Jake is a 19-year-old Junior A hockey player from Elmira Ontario. He is currently playing in his second year in the CCHL for the Carleton Place Canadians. In previous summers Jake worked at a kids hockey camp which equips him with the athletic, personal and engaging skills necessary to make these hockey sessions awesome!
Sara Kafashan
Wellness
Sara is an Applied Social Psychologist who is deeply passionate about all things related to education, wellness, and mental health! Using an evidence-based approach, Sara has created, delivered, and evaluated programs to teach University of Guelph students about principles of well-being, resilience, stress management, and peer support. Sara also has a love for children and teaching. Under the guidance of her mother (an elementary school teacher), Sara spent her summers as a teenager tutoring her friends’ younger siblings. Today, Sara’s summers include lots of hiking, swimming, biking, baking, and reading. She is thrilled to be part of the Virtually Together Camp, and looks forward to using a fun, hands-on approach to teaching kids the wonders of their well-being!
Michael Green
Magic Tricks
Michael Green is a 19 year old student currently studying at the University of Guelph majoring in molecular biology and genetics. He started out in magic at age 12, and has been actively practicing for over 7 years. He has participated in University talent shows demonstrating sleight of hand and magical amazement.
Aveleigh Keller
Singing
A recent graduate from Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program, Aveleigh has been performing professionally since the age of 10. She’s worked all over Ontario, including The Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment, The Grand Theatre, and The Rose Theatre. Aveleigh is also a playwright in residence with Unwrap Theatre, working on multiple projects with the company. She loves to read, watch youtube videos, and is a total history buff. She also loves Oxford commas.
Sarah Holman
Dance
Sarah has grown up competitively dancing since the age of seven. She trained in a wide range of styles including jazz, ballet, hip hop, acro and musical theatre. While growing up in dance, she gained an interest in fitness and health as well. She has taught kids of all ages and levels how to improve their dance skills in summer dance camps, as well as choreographed solo’s for students to compete in. Currently she is on her College’s competitive dance team. The team works together to create routines that go up against the most competitive schools in the country. Sarah continues to take dance classes to improve her own skills and technique because she thinks it is important to never stop growing and learning in something she is passionate about.
Sydney Klassen
Arts and Crafts
Sydney Klassen will be running the arts and crafts sessions every week. Sydney is a 20 year old student from Guelph Ontario. She is currently attending Brock University for Economics. In her spare time she loves making art with her 4 year old brother and both her 2 year old sisters. Her favourite art mediums are paint and pottery!
Reagan Jacobs
Dance
Reagan Jacobs has been a part of the dance community for 15 years. She has trained in jazz, hip hop, ballet, acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical, tap and musical theatre. Reagan quickly developed a passion for dance at a young age which started her journey of competing. Reagan is an accomplished dancer who wants to pass down her love for dance to young kids. She assisted many different styles of dances with many different skill levels throughout the years and later taught Hip Hop competitively and recreationally for a year. Reagan travelled with World Performers Canada in 2019 to represent Canada and compete in hip hop and contemporary at the Dance World Cup in Portugal. She is so excited to be able to pass her love of dance on through Virtually Together Camp.
Genevieve Sutherns
Science Experiments
Genevieve Sutherns grew up in Guelph and has always had a love for science whether in the classroom or through extra circulars. She is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science at the University of British Columbia and has a specific love for the brain! She was a national finalist in a neuroscience competition and loves sharing her passion with others. Usually spending her summers up north at an overnight camp, this summer looks a little different but she is so excited to be bringing the same energy, love and engagement to Virtually Together Camp!
